Ari Collins only ever thought of himself. He knew it, too, and it ate at his conscience. Consequently, he was quite giving, but he never thought to give unless asked, and on special occasions he gave gifts he himself wanted. Even Seamus Bergstein, the main character in his nanofiction, was just Ari with more interesting hangups.
