The alarm scuttled under Seamus' dresser and kept screaming. He swept it out with his remote, lunged to stop the alarm's dash for cover, and hit OFF. Defeated, it squeezed under the closet door to wait again for morning.
Finally, Seamus thought, an alarm that works.
One day, the alarm thought, I'll wake the world.
