The Fear Test

by Tim Cassidy-Curtis

It broke people.

It was the Academy's worst test. Everybody failed. I was determined not to.

When I took it, I faced my single worse fear. Then they asked me "Were you afraid?"

When I said no, they told me that I had failed.

"Why?!" I asked.

"Because," they answered "you're supposed to be afraid."

Nice twist at the end.

I love this. The test seems to be some form of self-fulfilling prophecy.

Fantastic.
