Road Trouble

We're hauling a dozen Zulu workers home from the construction site in a bakkie. Ahead, a trailer has slammed into a car. We pull over and the workers jump out to grab sugar cane out of the trailer.

"Got a phone so I can call the police?"
We laugh.
"Welcome to South Africa, stranger."
