We woke up one morning and found eggs scattered over the beach.
They had come in on a quiet winter tide. Glowing purple ovoids the size of large boulders. Green eyes blinking through soft translucent shells.
Curious, we let them hatch, and so when the snake-girls crawled out we had only ourselves to blame.
