"Wow, lame," she giggled. "You've seriously been putting your own money in?"
I mumbled, "I don't like being yelled at."
Nor being laughed at. But I still miss Nessa. I got fired for slipping cash into her register.

I really like this one! I think it's better than the original draft you had up on air theremin. Bit more tragic I think.
Thanks! Yeah, that often happens when I return to a story. I find an ending that works waaaay better than the last one. Happened with The Last Man on Earth, too, which originally had a really cliched sci-fi twist.
