“My dad heard about our hike the other day.”
“Oh? What did he say?”
“Well, he went and bought me new hiking boots. Said his daughter shouldn’t have any excuse to hold a guy’s hand.”
I chuckled. “How did you respond?”
After a long moment, your hand found mine. “I decided I don’t need one.”
