“Your tardy groom is on the phone.” My mother presses a phone to my ear. “He sounds drunk.”
I anxiously watch the waiting crowd of my friends and family. He lost his in the divorce but mine are his now.
“I won’t be coming to our wedding,” he says. “I’m sorry, but I’m still married.”
