A Dawn

by Ari Collins

Her phone alarm vibrates silently. It's our first morning in bed together. She dresses quietly in the pre-dawn dark and she's near ready to leave when she realizes I've been awake.

She comes back to lean in and kiss my forehead. "So sweet. Letting me think I'm letting you sleep." Then she's out the door.
